Get Some Fresh Air at St. Charles Parks

Though the weather outside may sometimes be frightful, it’s still important to get fresh air and exercise during the winter months. These three St. Charles parks offer a welcome home to those looking to break a sweat and take a moment to enjoy the outdoors. Plus, they’re just minutes from our apartments in St. Charles.

Katy Trail State Park

The Katy Trail State Park is actually 240 miles long, making it the longest developed rail-trail in the country and the biggest of the St. Charles parks. Fortunately, the St. Charles North Trailhead is just north of 370 next to the Missouri River, making it easily accessible. Beautiful views of the river, as well as well-maintained pathways, create a space that’s easy to utilize for exercise while maintaining social distance.

Fox Hill Park

With 25.5 acres of land divided into two connected sections, Fox Hill Park gives residents of St. Charles plenty of space to roam and wander. If you’re looking to play a game of pick-up with a friend, the half-court basketball is plenty of space for two to get a quick game in. The paved hiking and biking path also gives visitors a way to exert some energy on foot or by bike.

McNair Park

If you’re looking for even more space to spread out and get in some quality outdoor exercise, look no further than the 98 acres of McNair Park. Some offerings of the park are closed for the winter. But you’ll still get plenty of access to well-maintained running trails and the peace and quiet of the great outdoors. Plus, after a big snowfall, the park offers hills that are great for sledding!

Even during winter, humans need fresh air and exercise. Fortunately for residents of Sun Valley Lake apartments in St. Charles, MO, ways to get outside abound. If you’re looking for apartments in St. Charles, contact us at Sun Valley Lake to schedule a tour today.
